This is one of the most sought out timepieces of rolex. I just bought one yesterday from a rolex boutique in Southern California. I recommend anyone who is looking to get this piece not to make his purchase online as that would void rolex warranty. Furthermore, you do not know the history of the watch, it could be a fake or the movement might have been swapped out. Even when buying from a prominent jeweler, i dont trust the product of this price range unless i see and inspect the timepiece with my own eyes. If you are going to buy a time piece that is well over 10000 dollar, why not spend a 1000 more for the factory warranty and the peace of mind!!! But hey, that my personal opinion.

I've had this particular Rolex for about 5 years and am very pleased with it.
I've heard there is usually a waiting list for this watch but was referred to an authorized Rolex dealer after I apparently impressed the Ferrari dealer manager when I purchased both a Ferrari F430 and a pre-owned Bentley Continental convertible on the same day, no financing, just a one time bank transfer. The manager was exceptionally accommodating and made some on calls on my behalf with his known authorized dealers and found one that had a Rollie Day, no waiting. Bought the watch about 2 hours after I left the dealer. At the same time, I also bought a Rolex Submariner as the Daytona does not have a date function. Look up my reviews, I put up a pic of my Ferrari and when I'm not too lazy, I'll throw up a picture of my Bentley.
PROS:
1. It's STUNNINGLY gorgeous, and I mean just drop dead beautiful.
2. It is absolutely an attention getter.
3. Women are very impressed by the watch.
4. Has some serious heft/weight to it. It's built like a tank.
5. Conversation starter when at parties or out in public.
CONS:
1. Artificial supply/demand issues. This is both a con and a pro but I put it under cons. Rolex, like De Beers diamonds, artificially creates a low supply thus driving up the price of this watch. I guess it's to both maintain price and to keep the watch exclusive, but I personally feel there is no reason why they can't put more on the market.
2. Price. But I guess it's the price of admission in a very exclusive club.
3. No date function.
I could go into all the marketing hype with you such as the "elegant movement" or the "precision chrono" blah blah blah but face it, you DON'T buy this watch for any of that crap. You buy this watch because this watch is the subtle power play. When people see you wear this watch, they KNOW you are not only of great wealth, but also well connected, as this watch is difficult to obtain new from an authorized dealer. The watch projects power and authority without you having to say a word.
I've been ushered to the front of lines or have bypassed long wait lists at exclusive restaurants when I put in my name for a table then casually extend my hand to shake the hand of the employee and they get a glimpse of the watch. I am always afforded extra attention while wearing this particular Rollie (no one cares when I show up in the Submariner, I guess it looks too plain and does not catch many people's attention). I've had gorgeous women glimpse the watch and spontaneously start a flirty conversation with me even though I'm obviously married (and NO I don't play along, I kindly remind them I'm married). Now judge me if you want, but THAT right there makes you feel fantastic just to have a random beautiful woman come up and try to start a conversation with you.
BOTTOM LINE: If you work hard and can afford to indulge yourself, BUY this watch. It'll get you treated like a king. You WILL smile every time you put this watch on.
PS: If you are looking for a "working man's" Rollie then I highly suggest getting the Submariner. I'll put up a review and a pic of mine when I get a chance. But the Sub is built like a tank, very scratch resistant, has date function and is a solid timepiece. Just don't expect people to fawn over you when you are wearing the sub.
