The Rolex GMT IIc is my first Rolex chronometer. It certainly does not disappoint. With a better movement, nearly scratch proof ceramic bezel, durable super case, easy link oyster braclet, and maxi dial hand visibilty, the refinements over the previous GMT II are impressive.
The 3186 movement incorporates the parachrom blue hairsping which helps the watch maintain accurate time keeping despite temperature change or magnetic field imbalance. Mine is -1 seconds/ day over the last week. A watch built to this exacting standard must keep accurate time even when hours are to be changed, for instance when traveling to a different time zone, without stopping the movement of the minute, second and GMT hands. This is a feature that no other GMT has, except for Omega.
It is smaller in person than portrayed in pictures. At 40mm it is not a large watch, and it does not wear heavy. The crown can protrude a bit when worn on the left wrist, as I am sure most will choose. This is the cost for the triplock screw down crown. A new feature for the GMT II.
The bezel also appears grey when light exposes many of the pictures found of this watch, but it looks black in all the light I have subjected it to. It is nearly scratch proof, except for the platinum inserts that indicate the 24 hour time. These scratch easily!
Overall, an incredible timepiece that, with any luck, will out live me!

I bought my first Rolex GMT in 1969. I wore it thru a war,meetings,scuba diving, sky diving and everything else. Wore it with a Tux.,suits and jeans. Now I own the new GMT Master II.
I know this is the last watch I'll ever own. Rolex IS the finest watch on earth. You can NEVER GO WRONG with Rolex.

I got the Rolex GMT Master II stainless steel Black Dial as a gift and I am loving it. I was wanting to get the Daytona black dial but this is much better classy Rolex. The Daytona has been worn out so much that it lost it prestige. The GMT Master II has 3 hour zone so it very useful watch to ware all the time and especially during traveling. Its one of the most practical Rolex watch. I have a 4 Rolex watch is this by far most practical watch I have owned in a long time. Rolex is the best ... second to none.
